McGowan Lake Property

View for the bluff, looking out at the lake

Another shot from the bluff.

The marsh down at the lake.

Clearing at the main building site.

High ground on the North end of the property. We will likely build the small cabin in this area.

A shot from the landing across the lake. The property is the two bluffs on the left.

Mark...The Wood Tick Magnet

James, Mark, and I spent the day kicking around up at Hinckley. We met up with the maintenance guys (Dan and Fred) who will be pushing the trail to the North end of the property. This will allow us to get the logs in.

Mark and James were hassling me for tucking my jeans into my pants. This turned out to be a good move, Mark had like 30 ticks in his clothing. Me, I had, like, none. I also treated my clothing with Permanone which seemed to work very well. After last year's run in with Lyme's disease, I was a little gun shy.

It looks like we have an option for bringing in the logs. We can truck the walls to the Indian Outpost; Dan and Fred are going to cut a path that will allow pulling in the logs via 4 wheeler.

Man, while we were walking, I saw lots of sign of Black Bear. Looks like there are quite a few running around in the area.

Certified

Certified level by Arthur Anderson.

We do so appreciate an accounting firm that fully understands the word, "shred."

Surprise Visit

Mark and James came down from the cities to help out. Having a few more sets of hands certainly makes things move along.

We managed to get another log on the building. It fit the first time...that don't happen often enough.

Walls

Today, we had some great weather for log work. I've been working steady on the walls trying to them completed. I plan on getting the walls finished up and then move the walls up to the property in Hinckley. I can build the roof structure up there. I am hoping to make a trip up to Hinckley later in the week and scope out potential build sites and start on the overall layout.

The walls are 7 rounds high. I will get 9 rounds on the walls prior to moving up north.
