Seem like just yesterday that we were starting on the cabin. Mid 2007 I rented a space in Frontenac to start the wall logs. This photo shows the sill log ready for splitting.
When we started on this journey we didn’t own the Stump Ranch property, we had no clue as to how exactly to build the cabin, and we decided that if we built the walls we would be probably be able to figure out how to move it. And, when we purchased our property, which was 3 miles back in the woods, at times, I had to question my sanity.
I’ve had to be patient and persistent. Often, I’ve had to figure out how to get something done with a single set of hands, when the task demanded a dozen or so. And, I’ve learned to appreciate my own company and truly value the time my family and friends have spent helping and visiting.
