Warm Weather, Bugs, and Wood Ticks

A couple days in the sun working at the ranch….cool mornings, warm days, and plenty of light. Sun comes up early and set late.

I was grateful for the opportunity toDSC03142 get away for a couple of days during the work week.  I spent my time pulling logs from the woods that Corey and I cut last fall.  And, then turning the logs into beams, that I could haul home and use for my timber frame shed.   Man, after a day of hauling logs,  handling logs, and milling lumber, I was tired.

With the warm weather, the bugs are getting insane.   Gnats, gnats, and more gnats.  I think I must have inhaled dozen of those little bastards.  And, right about now is the main wood tick season.  I treat all my clothes, but I still need to keep a close eye as I have had all the tick-borne illnesses that I care to have.

The following day, I finished up the siding on the outhouse and installed a door.   Now, the outhouse is ready for a little paint and it will be complete.

Cutting dead wood and clearing a path to get the ATV and log arch to the logs so I could pull them to the mill.

Finished the siding….board and batten.  Then, I managed to build and install a door.

I spend a lot of time in the woods between Mille Lacs and Finlayson. Time has show the necessity for screen windows on the outhouse.
